Hotel Sonne was founded by the dutch gastronomer Bas Dankers and the Görlitz based architect Christian Weise. The two already run the Horschel restaurant in Görlitz's old town together with the Emmerich Hotel, which was voted one of Germany's 101 best hotels in 2020.

 

The special and versatile city of Zittau, the vastness of the landscape and the connections to nature, but also to the neighbouring Polish and Czech regions were the decisive impulse for the two to bring the Hotel Sonne to new life.
